I translated historical articles about Okinawan karate written in Japanese into English. Enjoy also my video clips of Kata of Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate and Ryukyu Kobudo.
Welcome to my blog! My real name is Kiyotaka Yamada. I am a member of Tai Chi Kenshikai in Osaka, Japan.
I hold a 4th Dan Black Belt in Okinawan Gojuryu Karate. "Sanzinsoo" or "San Zinsoo" is my internet nickname. It is derived from an Okinawan word meaning a fortune-teller. I have translated many historical articles about Okinawan karate written in Japanese into English.
I learned Okinawan Gojuryu Karate and Ryukyu Kobudo (= classical Okinawan weaponry) for 13 years directly from Master Eikichi Fukumoto at his Dojo. He is one of few high-ranking direct disciples of Grand Master Seiko Higa. With much regret, he suddenly passed away because of illness at the age of 58 on Sunday, February 12, 1995. Since then I have lost Sensei (= a karate master) and Dojo (= a training hall) at the same time. Now this blog is my new Dojo in the cyberspace.
My Karate Lineage:
Kanryo Higaonna - Chojun Miyagi - Seiko Higa - Eikichi Fukumoto - Kiyotaka Yamada
