I performed "Sesan" in front of the Thirteen Buddah Statues.
There is a Buddhist temple in front of the park where I practice karate almost every morning. Coincidentally, they display 13 Buddah statues made of stone there. Needless to say, it is same as the name of Kata "Sesan" which means thirteen (13).

shrine. It lasted about one and half year. However, last
month when I was practicing karate Kata, Suparinpe, as
usual, the old female priest of the shrine said to me "Don't practice in the shrine! This is not a public park."
Since then I have been practicing karate in a park or a vacant lot.

Sanchin
I do Sanchin as follows.
1. five steps
2. turn 180 degrees
3. three steps
4. turn 180 degrees
5. three steps
6. ending
We often call it "Go-ho San-po San-po" in Japanese. It means five
steps, three steps and three steps. I believe every student from
Master Seiko Higa lineage perform Sanchin like this.
